Luciano Spalletti is at the helm of an exciting project as i Nerazzurri aim to move back up to the summit of Italian football.
A sleeping giant is starting to come out of its slumber in Italy. It seemed like AC Milan would be the Milanese club seriously challenging Juventus on the domestic front based on last summer’s transfer business.
However, Inter Milan finished above them and they have rewarded Spalletti with significant funds to build up his squad.
Inter qualified for the Champions League thanks to a dramatic win over Lazio on the final day, who were their main rivals for the fourth spot.
Fighting for the big names.

This has allowed them to attract better quality players than they have recently been accustomed to such as Radja Nainggolan.
Their ambition appears to have no bounds because Luka Modric is the latest target, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The Croatian midfielder is fresh from finishing runner-up in the World Cup as well as winning a third consecutive Champions League title. He was an integral part of both those teams, so securing his signature would be a major coup.
Is Luka Modric the one?
Modric is 32-years-old, so he’s currently at his peak and likely to start declining at some point in the near future. Few players can match his ability to dominate games consistently over a season, though.
He is the the archetypal modern play-maker because he is nearly impossible to press and can break through opposition defensive shapes with his passing and dribbling while also contributing defensively.
The large Croatian contingent at Inter likely makes this move more enticing than other clubs, with Sime Vrsaljko the latest to join. He already has a strong understanding with Marcelo Brozovic from their time together with the national team, and Nainggolan compliments them both well.
Inter Milan also have Matias Vecino, Borja Valero Roberto Gagliardini and Xian Emmers to provide depth in that area.
Real Madrid are in a period of transition as they deal with a managerial change as well as Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure. Therefore, this might be the right time for Modric to move on, although Julen Lopetegui is likely to be reluctant because it will make his job even harder.
Modric and Ronaldo were key components of the three-peat team, so Real would require a significant rebuilding job even with the talent they possess.
This may be an unrealistic transfer, but the fact that Inter Milan are even being linked with Modric is a promising sign. It will be a tough task to dethrone Juventus, especially with the arrival of Ronaldo, but their summer business has put them in a good position to mount an assault on the league and maybe even go far in Europe.
