Real Madrid won’t let their star go that easily.

Inter Milan shocked the world when they rose their interest in Luka Modric, with many questioning the possibility. Obviously, Real Madrid are not inclined to sell Modric, as they look to compete in La Liga next season.

According to the Mirror, they have rebounded interest in the best way possible. Don’t want a team sniffing around your player? Ask for £670m, it’s that simple. That’s what Real Madrid have done, and it should deter Inter Milan away from the signing.

No player is worth that money, not even Luka Modric.

More from Serie A

Luka Modric is an exceptional player. This summer proved that to the small minority who didn’t already know.

He played in two of the biggest finals, winning one of them but unfortunately losing his chance in the World Cup final. This has still made him a worthy Ballon D’or contender though, so don’t be fooled by the final loss.

He guided Croatia to the final, often being involved in countless extra times and penalty shootouts along the way. This was bound to accumulate interest, but at the same time, bound to strengthen Real Madrid’s reluctance.

Look out for Serie A.

Serie A teams are clearly looking to strengthen for next season if recent transfers are anything to go by. A lot of this summer’s news has tailored around the Italian top flight.

The biggest transfer story of this season, Cristiano Ronaldo moving to Juventus, worried the rival teams. AS Roma were heavily linked with Malcom, before the Brazilian moved to Barcelona.

Gonzalo Higuain moved from Juventus to AC Milan, and now even Inter Milan are getting involved in the drama. Although they probably won’t sign Luka Modric, the signs of intent are certainly there to be noticed.

Next season could be a huge season for the Italian league, with more viewers than ever before. If rival clubs are to keep up with Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus, then they’ll need to continue being active in the transfer window.
