Laurent Koscielny has been a fan favorite at Arsenal over the years.
Laurent Koscielny’s name feels like amongst those which has been forgotten from the Arsenal squad. The Frenchman ruptured his knee ligaments and as a result has been put to an extremely long layoff.
Koscielny, 32, does not have a specific date in mind for his supposed. However, there is no daylight in front of him as far as a return to football is concerned.
The injury which ruled him out.

The Arsenal captain’s unfortunate injury took place in the Europa League semi finals against Atletico Madrid. The huge injury also forced the central defender to watch the World Cup on the sidelines.
To make matters worse, he had to sit through France winning the World Cup in Russia without his presence. This was only their second time lifting football’s biggest national trophy. He would have loved the celebrations even more had he featured in the match.
Koscielny, recently spoke in an interview about his future at the Emirates Stadium. The former Lorient defender said that he plans to ‘move on’ following the expiry of his contract in 2020. He will be 34 then.
"“I’m under contract until June 2020,” he told French publication Nice-Matin.“Afterwards? I’m thinking of moving on, but I do not know where.“This is not relevant anyway! I am in England, my family too.“Then there will inevitably be a lot of question marks.“The bottom line is to have health. I learned to relativise because there are so many more serious things in life.” – Laurent Koscielny (via Metro)"
Koscielny is certain to not return to action until January at the earliest. On the other hand, the Gunners have several center backs, who will be placed above the 32 year old in the pecking order. Sokratis was signed from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. Meanwhile, Shkodran Mustafi, Rob Holding and Callum Chambers are also expected to play bigger roles under Emery.
Laurent Koscielny’s departure could signal the end of an illustrious career for the Gunners by him. The France center back was instrumental for Arsenal in every run of theirs in each competition.
While he was not part of a golden era for the north Londoners, he has a pretty respectable trophy cabinet in his last eight years. In what could be the end of a ten year association with the Premier League’s only unbeaten finishers ever, the former Lorient man will always be remembered as an Arsenal legend.
He was one of their most courageous and high headed captains. His leadership qualities on the pitch were unparalleled by anyone else who would captain the club during his time. That is one aspect of him that will be missed apart from the gameplay and long standing pairing with the now retired Per Mertesacker.
