Chelsea’s star men Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois have been linked with moves away from London. The duo is keen on moving on and will hold talks with Sarri over a potential move.
Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois will be amongst the latest to join up with Chelsea’s squad ahead of 2018/19. The duo was part of Belgium’s World Cup campaign where they finished third.
Hazard and Courtois were amongst the best performers in the World Cup. The left winger was awarded the Silver Boot behind Luka Modric. Courtois, on other hand received the Golden Glove award.
Apart from their nationalities and outstanding performances, there is another thing similar within the duo. Both of them have been linked with a move to the European champions Real Madrid.
Eden Hazard is placed above Neymar and Kylian Mbappe as Real look to replace Cristiano Ronaldo. The Blues were desperate to hold on to him, but the forward is set to hold crunch talks with Maurizio Sarri. He could well submit a request to be transferred to move to Madrid.
Thibaut Courtois has been on Real Madrid’s radar since quite a while now. The Belgian has been held on to by Chelsea, but it seems they will lose their grip on to him now.
He just has one year left on his contract at the Stamford Bridge and if not this year for a transfer fee, will certainly leave the club next year for free.
The player’s agent has urged Chelsea to allow him to leave this season for logical reasons. Courtois stayed in Madrid for three years while he was on loan with Atletico Madrid. His family including two daughters reside in Madrid.
"“I am not interested in what the agent says, I want to hear Courtois, I want to know if he says the same on Monday,” said Sarri.“I only want players that are highly motivated.”On Hazard, whose future is also in the air, he added: “I will speak with him on Monday and I think that the result will be more good than bad.”"
Apart from just the desire of looking towards new challenges, the duo has been unhappy with Chelsea’s transfer activity and absence of Champions League football. Antonio Conte’s sacking is another major factor responsible if they are to leave the club.
