5. Stable veterans

The exciting youth is always great to see at a club, but one thing Chelsea has at every position is a proven leader. Experience is invaluable in any sport, but football takes it to another level.

With Thibaut Courtois all but out the door, Willy Caballero will be the veteran between the sticks. Gary Cahill and David Luiz round out the backline in terms of experience, leading the likes of Rüdiger and Zouma in defense.

Chelsea will look for Cesc Fabregas to be the mentor of a midfield that can shape up in a variety of ways. Fabregas has played all over the field during his career, even occupying a center forward spot during his time with the Spanish national team.

His footballing mind is remarkable while his vision and passing ability make him crucial to the team’s success. Taking players like Ampadu under his wing will allow Chelsea to reap the benefits of his services long after he has left.

In attack, Chelsea have both Pedro and Giroud to lead the lines. The two have more than their fair share of goals over the years while still performing at their peak.

Pedro brings the undying passion to the game that really makes supporters appreciate just how hard these athletes work. It seems he can run for the full 90 minutes and still have the stamina to play another match after.

This commitment is something for every player to strive towards and simply having him in and around the team will give off a positive feeling.

The overall feeling and structure of Chelsea going into this season feel much better than the previous few. The manager is well liked, the signings have been solid, and the players seem to enjoy the system they are playing.

If this Chelsea team can break away from what made them so horribly boring last year, they can be a real threat to the Premier League title. Sarri has the tools to get it done, and with Chelsea supporters fully behind their team, the sky is the limit.
