Liverpool have a good defense after a long time this season. Jurgen Klopp has great quality at the back and will certainly use his strongest back line for the Premier League opener.
New recruit Alisson Becker will certainly be handed an official debut in front of his new fans. He would be hoping for a much better game than his last time- when he shipped five against Liverpool in Roma’s shirt.
Klopp has complete trust in Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson. The young full backs are expected to defend the flanks on Sunday. The central back pairing shall consist of Virgil van Dijk and Dejan Lovren.
MIDFIELD
Liverpool made several midfield recruitments this season. However, they are expected to start with the customary three in the centre of the park. Fabinho and Naby Keita should be handed with their debuts along with Alisson Becker.
Jordan Henderson will be the third name in midfield. Some might argue for Xherdan Shaqiri to start, but he will almost certainly be limited to only a substitute’s appearance in the Reds’ first Premier League game.
ATTACK
Picking the attack will be an absolute blinder for Klopp. The former Borussia Dortmund has one of the world’s most lethal attacking trios at his disposal. Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane will be deployed onto the wings.
Roberto Firmino will be the sole striker. All of the three will be hoping for positive starts to a new season. They come into the Premier League on the back of high expectations, having failed to match them on the national level in Russia.
