The Gunners will come up against Manchester City on Sunday, but it has the potential to be a different tale to last season.

Arsenal played the Champions three times last season. All of those meetings ended in emphatic Manchester City wins, the most infamous being the Carabao Cup final.

However, the Gunners have a chance to redeem themselves in this match, as Unai Emery takes on his first competitive match with his new club.

Many fans across the globe have been quick to write Arsenal off, claiming that City are far too dominant for them. However, this game is completely 50/50, as every Premier League matchweek 1 game is.

Here’s why I believe Arsenal will beat Manchester City…

1. A new era for Arsenal under Unai Emery

Many signs have pointed towards change for Arsenal. The most notorious of those changes being in the managerial position, as there will be a new man at the helm. This has sparked quite the excitement from the Arsenal faithful, as Emery has improved the club in more than one way.

Whenever Pep Guardiola has faced an Arsenal side, it’s been Arsene Wenger in charge. It was the case before Guardiola began his managerial career, so it will be weird for him to be planning for somebody other than Wenger.

This will call for quite the affair. Both managers love to manipulate their setup in order to best work their way around the opposition. That said, don’t be surprised to see Emery giving Guardiola a run for his money.
