Arjen Robben – 7.5/10

The Dutchman had a largely productive day in the German Super Cup. Admittedly, he wasn’t tearing up the right flank of the pitch as he usually is accustomed to doing. But for the most part, his performance was positive.

For sure, his biggest contribution to the match was a very well placed corner kick to once again find the head of Robert Lewandowski to double the advantage in the match. To be fair, if it wasn’t for that assist to the Pole, his performance would probably be looked at much more quietly in terms of his offensive threat on the pitch.

Robert Lewandowski – 10/10

It was a perfect night for the lethal Polish striker against Eintracht Frankfurt. It only took 20 minutes for Lewandowski to draw first blood and from the there, the floodgates were open. In the air, he was absolutely a terror for the Eintracht Frankfurt defense as his first two goals were headers.

In his final goal, he found himself in an extremely favorable amount of space with the ball, and made clinical work of slotting home the hat-trick finisher. With the right amount of service behind him, Robert Lewandowksi is one of the most dangerous forwards in the game.

Franck Ribery – 6.5/10

Unfortunately, there was nothing truly special coming from the veteran Frenchman in this match. While he was definitely able to be accurate in his overall passing average and made a couple of dangerous looking passes, he was unable to really exploit Frankfurt’s defense on his own.

In some instances, he was able to pull off some successful dribbles, but also had problems in being dispossessed on the left-wing when trying to advance the attack on his own. Frankly, this goes for both of Bayern’s aging wingers: if they don’t show that same dynamic and creative play they used to show, Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry will be eager to snap up their spots.
