The notorious FIFA game has impacted the perception of many soccer teams and leagues, but now it’s Serie A’s time to shine all over again.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus was the biggest story of the summer. After a not-so-impressive World Cup with Portugal, the superstar still made world news as he signed for the Serie A giants.

While this was always going to have a positive impact, the signs are already being shown. Back in June, Ronaldo was revealed as the FIFA 19 cover athlete, but now he will feature in a Juventus jersey.

This is huge news for Juventus and Serie A.

More from Serie A

I don’t think there’s any denying the impact soccer games have on real life soccer. Growing up in this era, youth can learn plenty about the beautiful game through virtual experiences. And who are they likely to control? You bet, it’s still going to be Cristiano.

FIFA promoted their new-look Ronaldo their social media channels – both Twitter and Instagram. The image shows a solo Ronaldo, which is never a bad thing. However, just look at how good he looks partnered with Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar. What could have been, hey!

I remember when I was growing up, FIFA was a valuable part of my life. The nostalgia of covers featuring Serie A stars including Edgar Davids and Ronaldinho is blissful.

However, Serie A soon went downhill as their stars began to leave for the high-end leagues in England and Spain. While scraps of the beautiful Italian philosophy still remained, it was a real shame for soccer lovers to witness.

That said, Serie A is on the rise once more. With news surrounding television rights to the Italian top flight being sold to ESPN, plus the arrival of a potential G.O.A.T, you can see why fans are beginning to get excited.

Serie A teams looking to keep up with Juventus.

The Italian transfer market has been an exciting one this summer, as every club looks to keep up with the favorites. Milan have signed Tiemoue Bakayoko and Gonzalo Higuain on loan, to name just a few examples. While it’s still not the most star-studded league in the world, Ronaldo has been a huge push.

Personally, I’ve always been a fan of Serie A, but the arrival of Ronaldo is only going to convince me to watch more matches. There should be plenty more fans, particularly from the United States, tuning in to keep up with the league standings.

While FIFA 19 isn’t the be-all or end-all, those associated with Serie A can take immense pleasure in their new superstar featuring on the cover.
