Could this be Chelsea’s lineup against Arsenal?
Right Wing – Pedro
The experienced Spaniard should get the nod ahead of Willian on the right side. Both played against Huddersfield as Sarri opted not to rush Hazard back and didn’t reward Callum Hudson-Odoi for a strong pre-season.
He rewarded Sarri for starting him with a goal late on to secure the win after a sublime run from Hazard on the counter. At Napoli, fellow Spaniard Jose Callejon was used on the right wing where he would often be isolated against the opposition full-back due to Napoli targeting the other side and that allowed him to use his aerial prowess after quick switches of play. However, Pedro doesn’t have the same physical profile, so his role is likely to be slightly different.
Injuries in the Arsenal defence mean that he will probably be up against an out of position Stephan Lichtsteiner. He can take advantage of this, although the Swiss defender is a wily opponent and will be comfortable with Pedro cutting inside.
Centre-Forward – Alvaro Morata

Morata has severe confidence issues based on his form in the second half of last season. However, he is a better fit for the role than Olivier Giroud due to his mobility and Tammy Abraham is unlikely to be trusted for such a major game.
The Spaniard’s mobility poses issues for the defence because he find space between the lines for a vertical pass to feet and from there help his team progress. He can also drift over to the left and be involved in fluid attacking moves. This will be key in breaking down the Gunners and he also provides a significant aerial threat if Chelsea have to play direct and utilise the flanks.
Left Wing – Eden Hazard
Chelsea will be reliant on the Belgian’s creativity to provide attacking solutions as well as progressing the team up the pitch. Arsenal are likely to press high so his sharp changes of direction and bursts of acceleration will be key in transitioning successfully and winning fouls.
Hector Bellerin will have the beating of him for pace, but this will be a tough duel for him due to Hazard’s agility and close control. He will be aiming to cut inside and drive at the centre-backs which could easily cause havoc in the Arsenal defence. A man of the match performance wouldn’t be a surprise in a key game for his team.
