The transfer window was fruitful for Arsenal, and they don’t want to ruin it.
Arsenal brought in five new players this summer, all of them having immediate impacts on the team. It’s very rare that Arsenal have such a positive transfer window, particularly since Stan Kroenke bought shares in Arsenal Holdings Ltd.
But of course, the European transfer window is still open, despite the Premier League choosing to close earlier. This leaves Premier League clubs susceptible to losing their stars, so soon after the window has closed. Arsenal will reportedly avoid this with Aaron Ramsey, according to The Mirror. They report that the Gunners will not be tempted by interest from FC Barcelona, Lazio or China.
An in-demand player.

Aaron Ramsey is a player which a lot of clubs looked at this summer. Even the likes of Liverpool were interested earlier on in the window. And it’s not hard to see why, given the Welshman’s ability to come up with magic.
He spent a large part of his career being coached by Arsene Wenger, but during this time he excelled as a midfielder, winning three FA Cups in the process. What I admire the most about Ramsey is his willingness to think outside the box, if you pardon the pun.
His forwards runs are always promising. He is a real space-exploiter, a trait which he doesn’t quite get the credit for. One can often find Mesut Ozil playing balls through to him, as he picks up promising positions in the opposition’s half.
Arsenal can’t afford to let him go.
Arsenal are past the days of needing to sell their best players, believe it or not. Okay, I know they sold Alexis Sanchez last summer, but the situation was unique.
The Gunners need to avoid the same situation arising with Ramsey. Even though the transfer window is closed, they can still discuss contracts with star players. Call me cliche, but tying Ramsey down to a new contract would be better than a new signing.
He is symbolic to the Arsene Wenger era, and he’s one which could show immense progress under Unai Emery. In fact, in the Spaniard’s opening presentation to Ivan Gazidis and company, he signaled both Ramsey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the players he will build his philosophy around.
It’s not difficult to see, given their differing approaches to space exploitation. He is key to the attacking department of Arsenal’s play, and he’s only going to get better.
Do you think Arsenal will be able to keep hold of Aaron Ramsey?
