Manchester United visit Brighton on Sunday evening. The Red Devils will be looking to add 3 points on the board after an unconvincing win against Leicester City last week. Jose Mourinho will be without as many as six players for this one. Let’s have a look at the Premier League giants’ likely eleven.
Defense
David De Gea won the Golden Glove last season after sensational performances in the league. He is United’s requisite for victory and will start at the Amex Stadium.

Last week, Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof were stellar at the back for Jose Mourinho & Co. The Portuguese is expected to field the Ivorian and Swede for a second game running.
Luka Shaw scored a goal and was superlative in the match against the Foxes. He will be hoping to get more minutes and could get some more on Sunday. An injury to Antonio Valencia could see Ashley Young play right back.
Midfield
Andreas Pereira was on loan last season with Valencia and impressed. He also won over Jose Mourinho during pre-season and could be deployed at defensive midfield.
Fred’s agility and stamina left most United fans in awe of the Brazilian. Lack of options in the centre of the park could see Jose give the new signing another start.
Paul Pogba was United’s captain last week and Jose confirmed that the French will wear the armband against Sunday’s opponents in his pre-match press conference. In a free role, the 25 year old is lethal and his boss will be hoping for another strong performance this weekend.
Attack
Romelu Lukaku came on as a substitute against Leicester City. The Belgian is expected to be fully fit and will probably start against Brighton this weekend.
Alexis Sanchez provided some brilliant passes in the final third last Friday. His ability to cut passing lanes and pressurize defenders could see him start on the left wing.
Juan Mata was deployed at right wing due to lack of options. However, the Spaniard contributed to defence and attack quite well and could be handed another chance to showcase his talent on Sunday.
