Chelsea are reaching desperate measures to keep Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge, but the supporters won’t mind.
All summer long, Eden Hazard has been linked with a move away from Chelsea. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Real Madrid got the most media attention. This is because they lost out on Cristiano Ronaldo, and they need someone worthy to fill his boots.
While Hazard is undeniably worthy, Chelsea will look to keep him at Stamford Bridge. According to The Sun, Roman Abramovich and company believe a £300,000 per week contract should be enough to do this.
Chelsea *should* face no problems.

Hazard has voiced his love for the club on many occasions. Ever since he moved from France to England, he hasn’t lost his admiration for the London lifestyle. And while it’s taken him a little bit of time to recuperate from the busy World Cup schedule, he is only going to look forward to hitting top gear in this season.
He has never actually spoken of his discomfort at Chelsea, even during the Antonio Conte saga. He has kept a professional head, and never let the rumours get to him. His performances on the pitch certainly haven’t suffered, anyway.
When Thibaut Courtois left to join Real Madrid, there were many fears that Hazard would join them too, only naturally. But the rumours haven’t materialised in any way, so Chelsea fans shouldn’t be as worried as they are.
A valuable player.
This goes without saying, but Eden Hazard is one of the best players English football has to offer. His work on the ball has been admired for many years, and although he’s had his questionable form in the past, things only look to be getting better.
He has amazing footwork, with his control of the ball being sublime. He’s known for his quick feet, particularly in wide positions, to beat the opposition.
However, his creative prowess shouldn’t go overlooked. Mostly thanks to his quick passes, the fellow Chelsea attackers can get on the end of things. Even the likes of Marcos Alonso has benefited from this in the past.
To speak volumes of how integral he is to Chelsea, I went over to WhoScored to see just how well he’s done already this season. And just as I’d imagined – two assists from just 43 minutes played, he really is special.
Do you think tying Eden Hazard down to a new contract is worth the money for Chelsea?
