Arsenal have some stiff business on their hands when it comes to tying Aaron Ramsey down to a new contract.
Aaron Ramsey is a player whose contract runs out at the end of this season. Arsenal know too much about leaving extensions for too long, especially given the Alexis Sanchez saga last season. Undeniably, they will look to avoid this when it comes to Ramsey. Thankfully, he’s a lot easier to deal with, seems as he has the club installed in his heart.
That said, he still would like financial temptation. He currently earns £110,000 per week, which may seem like a lot but given his worth, he should be on a lot more. In fact, according to Evening Standard, the Welshman wants his wage doubled. And while Arsenal aren’t willing to meet his demands, they’re confident they can find a way to tie him down to a new deal.
There should be no problems.

Aaron Ramsey knows how much of an important role he will have under Unai Emery. The Spaniard has made it clear to the board on several occasions, including his opening presentation. In fact, the midfielder’s even enjoyed a few spells as captain recently, with the injury of Laurent Koscielny proving prominent.
He’s been a Gunner ever since he was just a boy, nurturing under the guidance of the legend that is Arsene Wenger.
He knows just how great it is to be loved by the Gunners faithful, but at the same time, he knows how it feels to be underappreciated. Now that Jack Wilshere has jumped ship to West Ham United, there’s no reason for Arsenal fans to make the silly comparisons.
A key figure to the setup.
Ramsey’s traits are rare to find, but also easy to exploit. Emery will look to do just this, as he aims to achieve balance in midfield. Ramsey is a space-exploiter, made possible by his willingness to run forward from midfield.
His midfield runs have proved to be a curse in recent history, but now that Arsenal have the means to cover the back-line, his defensive work is no longer necessary. It’s cliche, but the Welshman is finally free, and although his first two games were questionable, we can expect to see an excellent season under Unai Emery.
What do you make of the situation? Aaron Ramsey has asked for his wage to be doubled, but do you think he deserves it?
