Arturo Vidal- 5/10

Arturo Vidal was signed from Bayern Munich this summer and eventually had his break in the blue and red jersey in the Catalans’ first away game. He came on for a substitute appearance for fifteen minutes towards the end but was not involved a lot in the play. He had a mere thirteen touches in the whole game and completed only 73% of his attempted 11 passes. Not what you expect in a 15 minute cameo.

Malcom- 3/10

Malcom was brought on for the final six minutes plus stoppage time of the match. However, in whatever part he played on the pitch, he was practically invisible. He just had 1 pass in the whole game which hands him a pass accuracy of 100%, yet missed a big chance to kill the game off by making in 2-0.

Munir El Haddadi- Not Available

Barcelona’s forgotten man was brought on for Luis Suarez in the last minute of stoppage time just to run time off the clock. The former Malaga loanee had to make no real contribution and just one minute on the pitch is too less a time to determine his performance.

Ernesto Valverde- 5/10

To be frank, I have never personally been a big fan of the former Athletic Bilbao manager’s tactics at Barcelona. Perhaps, he never really had a tactical system and only depended on Messi and MATS for top performances to rescue the team. His real face was made visible in Barcelona’s dropped points in previous season’s matches including the drubbing by Roma. Yet, he is a respectable man and probably still trying to figure his trade out with Barca.
