Real Madrid haven’t given up on their bid to strengthen their front line, but they continue to look towards to the Premier League with Manchester City the newest suitor.
Real Madrid have kicked off their La Liga campaign well, winning both of their opening games and sitting top of the table. They’ve scored six goals during this time, so one would assume their front line faces no problems. However, the Real Madrid officials seem to think otherwise.
Having missed out on Eden Hazard, Mohamed Salah and other potential attackers, the Spanish capital could hinder towards a move for Raheem Sterling. This news is coming from Sky Sports, who report the deal will be discussed after this window.
This is a smart move.

I don’t think there would be any way City would be willing to sell this summer. Especially now that the English transfer window closes before Europe’s. Obviously, the club already signed Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City, but that doesn’t make Raheem Sterling any less valuable to them.
Pep Guardiola and company will look to get on with their season, and having suffered a shaky draw last weekend, they won’t want to lose any more of their star players. Kevin De Bruyne is out injured, so it’s important Manchester City keep the squad morale at the highest possible level.
Discussing the deal in a future transfer window would give the Citizens plenty of time to analyze the situation. Then, if they do decide it’s a good time to move on, they can find a replacement early on.
Plenty of time to develop.
Many people forget that Raheem Sterling is such a young player. This is because he’s had quite the career already, playing for two Premier League giants in Liverpool and Man City. While the doubters continue to doubt, the interest from Real Madrid will do all the talking.
Real Madrid are looking to replace the legend Cristiano Ronaldo, which was never going to be an easy task. There are only few players who are worthy of this feat on the market. I don’t think Raheem Sterling is one of those yet, but if Madrid do pursue him, then it would be hard to argue against their decision.
Sterling is amazing with the ball at his feet. He always looks to drive past his opposing number, and he’s achieved this with ease under Guardiola. His delivery can be pretty good, but a major flaw of his is his finishing.
Whether it be a confidence issue, or just a flaw in his ability, this needs to be worked on if he wishes to reach new heights. He has a good mindset, and having shown it under Guardiola, is always looking to improve his game, so this could be worked on over time.
I’ll take these reports with a pinch of salt. But it’s important we remain open to the idea, because when Real Madrid come calling, it’s often difficult for the player to say no. Do you think this deal will materialize into anything concrete?
