Striker: Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has yet to score his first Serie A goal, but that isn’t a trend we should expect to continue. He has already had a few close chances and was only denied in his second appearance by himself. He had an open net and was lining up Cancelo’s cross, but his own foot blocked the shot. It prevented Ronaldo from opening his Juve account, but it did lead to him earning his first assist with Juventus in the the most unorthodox way possible. Even without scoring his first goal Ronaldo has been a threat throughout both of his appearances.

With an international break following the match against Parma we don’t have to worry about Ronaldo being rested here. Allegri said that there will be times that Ronaldo is rotated out of the lineup, but that likely won’t be happening until the Champions League schedule gets started. Ronaldo will once again start up front for Juve and will be in prime position to get his first goal with the team.

Goalkeeper: Wojciech Szczesny

After not really having an impact on Juve’s season opener Szczesny left much more of an impression in the match against Lazio. He made a beautiful save after a lazy Pjanic back pass gave Lazio a chance at goal.

At some point this season Mattia Perin will need to get some playing time, but Szczesny did a good job of holding him off with this last performance.

This will be Perin’s job eventually, but if Szczesny continues to perform the way he did against Lazio then he’ll make sure that Perin remains the keeper of the future.
