How Manchester United will fare in their UEFA Champions League group

Manchester United have been drawn in group H alongside Juventus, Valencia and Young Boys in this season’s UEFA Champions League group stage.

The Champions League group stage, which gets underway next month, will see Manchester United take on Italian giants Juventus in what promises to be a mouth watering clash. The match will see Cristiano Ronaldo make his return to Old Trafford for only the second time since leaving in 2009. United midfielder Paul Pogba will also have his reunion with Juventus, two years after leaving the Old Lady.

Manchester United will also take on Spanish side Valencia and Swiss minnows Young Boys as the two sides make their return to the Champions League group stage.

Jose Mourinho’s men have made a dire start to the new season, losing two of their first three games in the Premier League. And making their way out of this tricky feat will by no means be easy for the Red Devils. Valencia have a very talented squad and could cause quite a few problems to Manchester United, just like Sevilla did last season. While Juventus will be the team to beat, especially with the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.

We could be in for some fascinating matches in the group. It will be very interesting to see which United turn up in the Champions League this season. We could be in for a fascinating tactical battle between Jose Mourinho and Massimiliano Allegri. While dark horses Valencia will be aiming to play spoilsport. Los Che enjoyed a resurgence under Marcelino last season and will have their sites set on upsetting United and Juventus.

Manchester United fans will not be expecting their club to win the Champions League this season, but going out at the group stage would be a disaster, and mark the end of Jose Mourinho’s reign as United manager. Despite their woes, United will be fairly confident of making their into the round of 16. They have enough quality in their squad and if the players step up to the plate, United should be able to go through without too many problems.
