Mesut Ozil looks set to be ready for action for Arsenal this weekend as they take on Cardiff City.

Arsenal took on West Ham United last weekend, and it was a match which Mesut Ozil didn’t feature in. The German play-maker was deemed ill, however there were conflicting reports going round which claimed him and Unai Emery were suffering a tiff.

However, whatever it was has been brushed aside now, and it looks like Mesut Ozil will feature against Cardiff City. The news is coming from Sky Sports, who report that Ozil has been training all week and will be back in contention for a starting spot in this match.

More from Arsenal FC

Arsenal have suffered a mixed start to their Premier League campaign. Two losses and a win look bad at first sight, but when you look at a number of the factors to their start, perception may lead you to allow the Gunners off the hook. One thing’s for sure, they need to continue their winning ways in this match if they are to stand any chance of catching up to their rivals.

Only time will tell whether or not Unai Emery will start the match with Ozil, but I have predicted him to do just that. The Spanish coach will know the perfect way to get the most out of Ozil, as he relies on his close research of his players.

Ozil is the star of the show, don’t be fooled. Whenever Ozil is playing well, Arsenal tend to look ten times better than usual. The problem is this doesn’t happen often enough, but of course, it’s never too late to switch things round.

He will look to provide the balls for the Arsenal strikers, something which he has become an expert of ever since he began his career. He is the chief play-maker, and although Henrikh Mkhitaryan may have taken over for a few games, the crown will soon be returned to Ozil.

What sort of involvement do you feel Mesut Ozil will have on this match?
