Arsenal found out who they will be facing in the group stages of the UEFA Europa League yesterday…

There is a lot of hype surrounding Arsenal this season, as Unai Emery undergoes his first season in charge. Although that hype may have taken a blow in the opening two games. the Gunners will still be excited about the season ahead. They got their first win of the season against West Ham United, and played an impressive style of football.

However, they won’t have their eyes on the Premier League this season, and they may look to other competitions for silverware. Although Emery will be forgiven should he go a season without a trophy, it will be nice to see him lift something come the end of the season. Here are my three reasons why Arsenal will win the Europa League…

1. Europa League specialists

That title is misleading at first glance, but I am of course talking about some of the new members at Arsenal. Unai Emery himself is quite the prominent figure in this competition, winning three consecutive Europa League titles with Sevilla.

Another Europa League specialist is Henrikh Mkhitaryan, something Arsenal saw glimpses of towards the end of last season. For Manchester United, the Armenian excelled in this competition. In fact, he even scored in 2017’s final between United and Ajax. Arsenal fans will hope he can replicate this type of form this campaign.

Ultimately though, it’s a joint effort. All players and everybody affiliated with Arsenal must strive to go far in this competition, as one missing piece can make the jigsaw look silly.
