Real Madrid beat Leganes by a 4-1 score line in order to maintain their 100% start. Here’s a look at how each player’s day went in the office.
Real Madrid won convincingly over Leganes in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Saturday night. The victory signifies a 100% record for the Whites in La Liga Santander, courtesy of Karim Benzema’s two goals and one each from Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale.
It was a fantastic performance by the team in all departments in either halves barring the penalty that Casemiro conceded in the first. The Whites kept a huge amount of possession throughout the match and made sure that their opponents did not even get a sniff of the ball during majority of the match. There is now a feeling of unity in the team that is expected to fare well after a good start. We take a look at the three things learnt from Los Blancos’ win over Leganes.
Goalkeeper- Thibaut Courtois- 7/10
The former Chelsea shot stopper got his long awaited Real Madrid start against Leganes. However, there was not much work on what was a comfortable night for the Whites as they cruised past the Cucumber Growers of Madrid. Unfortunately, he did not get a clean sheet on his debut with the Whites, as he never has in his previous attempts with Atletico Madrid and Chelsea.
However, he did make two straightforward saves to deny Leganes’ front-men. In addition to those, he also completed each one of his 17 attempted passes as well as 4 long balls. Hence, he gets 7 out of 10.
