Chelsea are one of the only three teams aside of Watford and Liverpool, who hold a 100% record in the Premier League, having won all 4 matches so far.

Chelsea are always top contenders for the Premier League title and this year has been no different for the Blues. The west Londoners have a new boss at the helm this year in Maurizio Sarri, who took over from Antonio Conte following his sacking. Several new signings also followed the former Napoli boss.

One of the most important arrivals has been that of Jorginho, who has fitted perfectly into the Chelsea system since coming to London. Mateo Kovacic also followed the Italian duo to join the Premier League giants on loan from Real Madrid and shined in his new jersey once again. Chelsea closed their transfer business by signing Kepa from Athletic Bilbao for a record fee after Thibaut Courtois’ departure to Real Madrid.

Chelsea’s footballing style has already started showing revolutionary flares under the much appreciated ‘Sarri-ball’. The fast-paced gameplay along with high pressure and possession is what surrounds this style, making it very similar to the tiki-taka. The players have been quick to adapt to it with Marcos Alonso, Eden Hazard and Jorginho standing out in particular. Even N’Golo Kante is slowly transforming into a more complete midfielder.

The start has already been something that has left many Chelsea fans in high optimism for the business end of the season, while it is normal for some Premier League fans to be afraid of a team that looks extremely sharp since the competition’s kickoff. The absence of the UEFA Champions League is another big factor that could influence Chelsea’s journey to the league, if it is to happen.

The Blues and PL Champions of 2016/17 have already dispatched four opponents on a streak which sees them being one of the only three teams in England’s top flight who hold a 100% record with four match days in. Huddersfield Town, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Bournemouth have all fallen victims to Chelsea, who have scored 10 times in their last four outings.

In all fairness, every match apart from the clash against the Terriers has been a litmus paper test for Sarri’s men so far and the Italian boss would be happy with how his players fared. There have been a few defensive lapses, mostly through the center for Chelsea but they will eventually be fixed keeping in mind that things are still in progress at this moment.

I would provide an 8 out of 10 for the Blues so far, they are surely an exciting prospect to keep an eye on with the Sarriball already doing wonders. Do you think Chelsea can lift the Premier League title for a second time in three seasons coming May?
