4. His transfer fee can be used to strengthen Juve

While signing Ronaldo has been massive for Juve’s exposure and added one of the most talented players in the world to an already impressive roster, it came with drawbacks too. To make up for the cost of Ronaldo, Juve was forced to sell both Mattia Caldara and Gonzalo Higuain. They were also unable to add a player to strengthen the midfield, which was their greatest area of need this summer.

If Juve were to fetch a 130 million euro fee for Dybala it would more than payoff the Ronaldo purchase. This would prevent them from needing to sell off more assets in the future and would open up the possibility of bringing in reinforcements for a Champions League run this season.

Even after signing Emre Can this summer, Juventus needs somebody to take Sami Khedira’s place in the midfield. Khedira has been extremely ineffective early in the season and right now, Juventus doesn’t have somebody to replace him as the 3 man in the midfield. Miralem Pjanic plays as the deep-lying playmaker. Blaise Matuidi plays from box to box and adds defensive solidity to the squad. Now they need somebody to make runs into the box and add to the attack. Khedira has been serving that function for the last year now, but it’s really not a role he is best suited for.

To fill this role Juve will need every last euro they can get out of selling Dybala because the right fit for this role is gonna be costly. It’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. If he continues to struggle this season like he has through 3 matches his price tag could come down some, but he would bring the perfect balance to the Juve midfield. He notched 12 goals last season and 7 assists the season before that, showing just how much he could add to Juve’s attack while also giving Juve a midfield that could compete at the highest levels. With a price tag in the hundreds of millions, a Milinkovic-Savic signing would require Dybala’s sale to become a possibility.

Juve could even have a little bit of money left over from Dybala’s sale to pick up another striker as backup for Mandzukic. Both of these signings would stand to make a bigger impact on Juve’s Champions League run than Dybala would
