Manchester United set to offer new contracts to 8 players
With the contracts of 8 first team stars running out next summer, Manchester United are set to offer them extensions to prevent an exodus in January.
According to MEN, David De Gea, Antonio Valencia, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Matteo Darmian, Andreas Pereira, James Wilson and Anthony Martial are all set for contract talks at Manchester United.
The De Gea to Real Madrid rumor mill seems to have been churning on forever now, but the Spaniard has chosen time and again to pledge his loyalty to the Red Devils.

And with Los Blancos having secured the services of Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea this summer, it looks like their interest in him has finally ended.
With no impending danger of him leaving the club, United can be more relaxed in their approach in terms of offering him a new contract.
Anthony Martial has never really had the best of relationships with Jose Mourinho. The Frenchman has started just one league match this season – the 3-2 defeat against Brighton, and it’s quite apparent that Mourinho seems to prefer Rashford, Sanchez and Lingard over him.
But with the Portuguese boss coming under heavy scrutiny recently over United’s poor start to the season, Martial reportedly believes that he can outlast him at Old Trafford.
Valencia and Darmian are currently the only natural right backs at Mourinho’s disposal. The latter has been linked with several moves away from the club recently, but with Valencia and summer signing Dalot recovering from injuries, he could be set for a bigger role this season.
Its no secret that Mourinho was desperate to sign a new center back over the summer, but his failure to do so means that Smalling and Jones will have to step up.
Andreas Pereira spent last season on loan at Valencia against the wishes of Mourinho, but decided to fight for his place at Old Trafford this season. He hasn’t started since the Brighton defeat, but his recent Brazil call-up is a sign of great things to come.
After netting a brace against Hull on his debut, James Wilson’s career has gone awry, and he was loaned out to Aberdeen earlier this season, but a contract extension might indicate that Mourinho has the youngster in his plans.
United’s next game is away at Watford on Saturday night.
