Juventus projected lineup vs Sassuolo: Ronaldo continues goal chase, Dybala returns
By John Vaccaro
Hopefully Juventus enjoyed the international break because they certainly aren’t getting any breaks this week.
Many fans will already be focusing on the Champions League match against Valencia on Wednesday, but Juve needs to get through a big Serie A battle with Sassuolo first. The match pits the two teams currently at the top of the Serie A table against each other in Torino.
This improved Sassuolo side represents Juve’s toughest challenge so far this season. After struggling to a league worst 29 goals last season, Sassuolo’s offense exploded in its first few games this year.
Juventus will be looking to continue their own hot start with a 4th consecutive win. Some fans have been disappointed with the performances that have gotten Juventus there, but it’s tough to be too upset with 3 wins in 3 matches to open the season.
It’s likely that Juventus will once again use a 4-2-3-1 as they try to halt Sassuolo’s momentum. This will give them a chance to rotate the squad for Wednesday while also getting some of their stars into the lineup.
The biggest question for Juve’s lineup this weekend will be how much Massimiliano Allegri will rotate the squad in advance of the midweek Valencia match. Allegri has quite few options on the wings and 2 midfielders who have yet to start this season.
Juve is one of the few teams in the world blessed with the talent to get a win even while rotating some of their most important players. There may be some surprise selections, but Allegri will do what he can to ensure 2 wins this week.
