LB: Alex Sandro 7.5/10

Alex Sandro was solid as always at left back. He made 2 tackles and an interception according to WhoScored and Juventus was keeping a clean sheet before his exit. He was a key part of stopping Serie A’s highest scoring offense. He continues to show match after match that even when doesn’t have a spectacular moment he is one of the most important players Juve has. Sandro appears to be in top form heading into the year’s first Champions League match.

CB: Medhi Benatia 7/10

Benatia made his first appearance of the season and it’s one Massimiliano Allegri should be thrilled about. Benatia’s performance showed that Allegri has options he can depend on when he needs to rest Chiellini and Bonucci. The match with Sassuolo began a stretch of 7 matches in 21 days and Benatia will play an important part in keeping Juve perfect in Serie A. His 1 tackle and 4 interceptions helped to keep Sassuolo off-balance in attack and will likely earn him quite a bit of playing time in the coming weeks.

CB: Leonardo Bonucci 6.5/10

The match with Sassuolo wasn’t Leonardo Bonucci’s best in the defensive third. He looked lost at times and was unable to prevent Khouma Babacar from getting free in the box for Sassuolo’s goal. However, he was better moving forward, completing 92% of his passes. I didn’t think he should start the match with the Champions League around the corner, but he played alright and it hopefully didn’t cost him a spot for Wednesday.

RB: Joao Cancelo 8.5/10

Joao Cancelo wasn’t supposed to start the match against Sassuolo, but was inserted into the lineup when Mattia De Sciglio was injured during warm ups. Cancelo was fantastic for Juventus in his unplanned start. He was a difference maker all over the field. He made 5 tackles, an interception, and a clearance in the defensive third. He was just as impressive going forward, sending in 4 crosses and completing 2 key passes. He was a handful for Sassuolo down the right side throughout the match. He showed once again why he was worth the price Juve paid over the summer.
