Barcelona defeated PSV Eindhoven by a 4-0 scoreline. Here’s a look at the best and worst players of the Catalans’ victory.

Barcelona ran riot over PSV Eindhoven with a 4-0 victory at the Camp Nou, courtesy of Leo Messi’s hat-trick and a beautiful goal by Ousmane Dembele. The Catalans began their quest for a first Champions League title since 2015 with a wonderful performance and did not let the visitors even have a sniff of their goal.

However, it was far from a flawless performance by the men in Blaugrana, especially by the defenders, who have come under scrutiny for subpar performances this season. Ernesto Valverde has a handful of worries to cater to, which as stated are mostly down to the backline’s performances. Though, here’s a look at how each Barca player did in the match.

Goalkeeper- Marc Andre Ter Stegen- 6/10

Marc Andre Ter Stegen was one of Barcelona’s best players across all competitions last season and duly praised for the sensational performances he delivered by the passing week. However, he has been slightly off the gas this season and his performances have raised a few eyebrows.

Yet, he had a very comfortable night against Barcelona’s Dutch opponents on Tuesday. He only had to intervene once, when the Catalans’ opponent came close to scoring when they were 1-0 up. Throughout the match, he only had to make one save and one punch, but both proved to be worthy at the end of the day as it helped Barcelona’s goal difference be superior.
