Defender- Clement Lenglet- 6/10

Clement Lenglet, who was superb in last season’s Champions League campaign with Sevilla made his bow into the competition with Barcelona by coming on as a substitute. He played ten minutes after having come on for Coutinho and was primarily sent to shut the shop behind following Samuel Umtiti’s red card. He is yet to start a game for Barcelona this season, but with improving performances, he should get the nod soon.

Midfielder- Arthur- 6/10

More from FC Barcelona

Arthur Melo played the last seven minutes of the game upon being put on in place of Ousmane Dembele. The new signing distributed the ball around well and made a case for a start in the near future with an impressive performance in the short duration that he featured for.

Midfielder- Arturo Vidal- Not Available

Arturo Vidal came on for just five minutes of proceedings. To be frank, I am still confused as to why Barcelona decided to purchase a player for 20 million euros who they will not play regularly. I did expect him to start the match but his omission became justified after he looked virtually invisible after coming onto the pitch.

Manager- Ernesto Valverde- 7/10

Ernesto Valverde got all of his tactics right during the match. However, what leaves me in doubts is why Ivan Rakitic is not getting a longer rest and the reason for Valverde’s substitutions in the closing stages of the game. Also, there are a handful of defensive issues that require addressing and that has to be done soon before Barcelona get breached embarrassingly.
