LW: Cristiano Ronaldo 6.5/10

Cristiano Ronaldo was robbed of the opportunity to make his Juventus debut a good memory. His red card was a terrible call, but he was able to make a contribution in his 29 minute appearance. Ronaldo played a ball across the box that gave Mario Mandzukic a clear chance on goal. Ronaldo once again looked dangerous, but unfortunately his chance to make a real impact was taken from him in this match.

ST: Mario Mandzukic 6.5/10

This match wasn’t exactly designed for Mario Mandzukic. It’s pretty tough for a striker to make their mark when their team is down a man. His best chance was a volley from close range that he probably should’ve done better with. The rest of the match he struggled to find many openings and eventually ended up defending for a large chunk of the second half. He had his usual endless motor helping Juve defend their league, but wasn’t able to do much to contribute to the winning effort. Mandzukic usually shows up for the big matches, but today just wasn’t his day.

RW: Federico Bernardeschi 8/10

Federico Bernardeschi has been the gift that keeps on giving for Juventus this season. Entering the season it looked like he would be stuck backing up Douglas Costa all year. However, he has been putting in one impressive performance after another for The Old Lady this year. He continued that trend against Valencia. Bernardeshci kept the pressure on the right side of Valencia’s defense and should have been rewarded with an assist on his pass to Sami Khedira. However, even without registering a goal or an assist he was still a major nuisance. With Douglas Costa about to serve a 4 match suspension this match was a great start for Bernardeschi to try to lock down the right wing position for himself.
