Projected Juventus lineup vs Frosinone: Paulo Dybala gets another chance
By John Vaccaro
Juventus catches a big break with its scheduling this weekend.
Juve continued their hot start to the season with a win at Valencia on Wednesday. However, that win wasn’t without some adversity. First it was an injury to Sami Khedira, which will leave Juve with only 4 midfielders on the roster for as long as the injury persists. Then it was Ronaldo’s ridiculous red card. Finally, Douglas Costa picked up injuries to his ankle and thigh that will keep him out for a month (although he was already suspended for 4 matches in Serie A).
Luckily for Juve, they get a perfect chance to get some rest some of their players that need it the most when they travel to Frosinone. Frosinone has been the worst team in Serie A this season by a pretty wide margin. Their only point this season came from a home draw against Bologna, who sits in 18th place in Serie A. If you only counted their first and last matches, they’d still have the worst goal differential in the league by 3 goals at -9. Long story short, they’re really bad.
This will be a perfect opportunity for Juventus to switch back to the 4-2-3-1 formation. It will give them a chance to rest midfielders, who have become a limited commodity for Juve. They can also give some of the defensive players who have struggled to find playing time a shot in this match. Finally, it’s a perfect opportunity for Juve to give Paulo Dybala another chance to find the form he has struggled for early in this season.
Juve has struggled to win impressively this season, but that will be the expectation in this match. Frosinone has been beaten by 4 or more twice this year and Juve will be expected to put in an equally impressive performance in this match.
