The mood with the Arsenal staff is positive, despite the departure of fan favourite Ivan Gazidis.

Arsenal are on a good win streak at the moment, and they look to continue it against Everton this afternoon. However, their wins on the field aren’t the only applaud-worthy asset for the Gunners, as the vibe behind the scenes is more than impressive.

For a club the size of Arsenal, looking to compete at the top of the Premier League, you would expect them to be organised throughout their ranks – including youth football. The North London club has always taken their young players seriously, so it wasn’t a surprise to see them appoint Freddie Ljungberg as manager of the under-23 side.

Freddie’s loving life.

Ljungberg’s side currently sit top of the PL2 table, just ahead of Chelsea on goal difference. They have played with excitement, and a real attacking spark. Looking back at Freddie’s days as an Arsenal player, it’s not hard to see where that came from.

The players may be loving life, but so too is the Arsenal legend…

For many years, the Gunners faithful have been calling for their legends to come and save the club – a feat we’ve seen with many other clubs in the past. This was particularly the case when the board were on the lookout for Arsene Wenger’s successor, with names such as Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Mikel Arteta being thrown around.

However, the above mentioned are all looking to pursue managerial careers elsewhere currently, with only a few notable names in the Arsenal camp. Steve Bould, Robert Pires and of course, Freddie Ljungberg are all prominent figures behind the scenes.

Although it might not be much, it’s still a positive for the Gunners to take. They need influence from the players who tie into the values of the club, and having them around will only make Unai Emery, Raul Sanllehi and other new names fall in love with the club.

Ljungberg won’t be pushing for the Arsenal job any time soon, Emery is showing plenty of promise. However, don’t put it past the Swede to become a big name in the managerial world sometime in the future.
