Left Back- Jordi Alba- 6/10

Barcelona playing nearly one hour’s football with ten men took its toll on Jordi Alba’s freedom down the left flank. The former Valencia full back was restricted to playing behind at defense for most durations of the match. When Barcelona did chase the game, Alba made his way forward but was nowhere close to his usual level while attacking.

Center Back- Gerard Pique- 7/10

Gerard Pique was a colossal figure as the Catalans were aiming to come back from a 1-2 score line. His attacking zeal paid off as he his header rescued one point on them night in the Camp Nou for Barcelona. His defensive work was also completed rightly but he did make a mistake that led to Girona’s goal.

Center Back- Clement Lenglet- 5/10

Clement Lenglet had been working hard in training and was finally awarded his first Barcelona start in place of Samuel Umtiti. The French defender made a few good interceptions but was sent off for elbowing in the closing minutes of the first half. The decision was arguable but it was still a bad hit. Barcelona will mostly appeal his suspension and hope that it is lifted.

Right Back- Nelson Semedo- 6/10

The young Portuguese made a few vital interceptions in the first half but looked flustered in the second half. His attacking prowess was looking promising from the right wing but was fizzled out by a well organized Girona side. His spot in the Barcelona lineup looks to have been fixed finally after a year of hard work and time on the bench.
