Jose Mourinho to replace Paul Pogba’s captaincy duties?
Jose Mourinho has reportedly decided that he will not let Paul Pogba captain the Red Devils ever again. Here’s a perspective about the rumour.
According to ESPN FC, rumours are emerging on Tuesday that Manchester United manager Paul Pogba has been stripped off captaincy duties in the backwash of his comments after the Red Devils’ draw versus Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.
The Frenchman aimed a foreseeable dig at the United boss following the team’s stalemate last Saturday. Pogba said that the team needs to attack more often and it looks like the comments have not gone down well under Jose’s eyes.
This is not the first time Pogba has commented and though they have not collected good feedback from Mourinho, they do make proper sense. Subsequent to Manchester United’s loss against Brighton & Hove Albion in the second match day of the Premier League, he questioned the team’s attitude.

Moreover, he also stated that he would be fined if he revealed the truth about his situation at the Old Trafford after the Reds’ opening day victory over Leicester City six match days ago.
Pogba has been the captain on numerous outings for Manchester United in the absence of primary skipper Antonio Valencia. But it does not look like it will be the case after the said to be announcement out of AON Training Complex in Carrington.
Opinion
Though Manchester United have other worthy and leader-like players in the shape of Ashley Young, Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera, it will be harsh on Mourinho’s part to relieve Pogba of his captain’s authority.
It will show yet again about the self-centred and egoistic person that Jose Mourinho is in spite of Paul’s comments making utter sense. Though, these are just reports, it remains to see what will happen once we see the Reds walking out onto the pitch in their subsequent fixtures.
Due to fallout with Jose, Pogba has been linked with a move to Barcelona since the summer and dropped a hint earlier this month that he does not know where his future lies.
