CM: Emre Can

Juve’s midfield choices should be pretty easy for this match. Sami Khedira is injured right now, which leaves Juve with only 4 midfield options. Of those 4 options Miralem Pjanic is the most likely to be rested. That means Can is guaranteed a start in this match. He has more to offer than Sami Khedira does at this point even if Khedira was healthy. In this particular match we will get good look at just what Can is able to accomplish with his passing abilities as he will need to take on some creative responsibility in Pjanic’s absence. We haven’t seen the best out of Can yet for Juve, but this match should give us a good glimpse at his capabilities.

CM: Blaise Matuidi

Matuidi is another player that should be just about guaranteed a starting spot in this match. He really should be guaranteed a starting spot in most matches. He is the only player on the roster that can really fill the box-to-box role. He was played extremely well for Juve this year and he will be a key part of keeping Bologna pinned in their own half in this match. With his work rate the current lack of midfield depth could eventually be an issue for Matuidi, but for right now we can expect him to continue controlling the midfield for Juve.

CM: Rodrigo Bentancur

Bentancur didn’t look great against Frosinone in his first start of the year, but he’ll be given another chance in this match. In that match he did play well defensively, but wasn’t able to add much to the Juve attack. It’s important for him to continue to get these chances when Juve can start him as he will be a piece of this midfield for a long time. We can expect him to look better against Bologna and continue to round into form with every start he gets.
