Defender- Jordi Alba- 6/10

Jordi Alba was given a deserved rest but had to replace Thomas Vermaelen with 20 minutes left on the clock. When he came on, Barcelona were 2-1 down and his attacking contribution is what forced Valverde to make the change. But it was not any different to Vermaelen since Leganes continued to cause problems down Barcelona’s right side. They were expected to sit back after being behind but it was a contrast.

Forward- Luis Suarez- 6/10

The Uruguayan striker was brought on in place of Munir with the motive of salvaging something out of the match. Luis Suarez is not known to deliver well under pressure and displayed that fact in the Butarque Stadium. The 31-year-old will have to be phased out by Barcelona gradually as he has been going off colour since some time now.

More from FC Barcelona

Forward- Malcom- 6/10

Malcom was stationed at the left-wing in place of Ousmane Dembele who was being flocked by a lot of Leganes defenders. The Brazilian who was signed this summer was looking to make a case for himself in the half an hour that he had in hand, but failed to do anything significant. In fact, his involvement in the match was also not looking too great. Probably keeping Dembele on would have been a better idea.

Manager- Ernesto Valverde- 6/10

The 54-year-old got his tactics partially right for the match but went home with nothing because of defensive faults. Valverde should have given chances to players like Arturo Vidal or Denis Suarez in a match like this but failed to do so. Sticking with the same predicted line-up is going to come at a price sooner or later.
