CM: Miralem Pjanic 7.5/10

Pjanic played well in this match. He provided 2 key passes and completed 90.7% of the passes he attempted in the match. Surprisingly, he also contributed 3 tackles, an interception, a clearance, and 2 blocked shots. Even though he wasn’t able to get a goal or an assist out of this match he directed the Juve attack well and had one of his better defensive matches of the year. It isn’t exactly the type of match that he’s going to brag about, but it was a solid all-around performance from Pjanic.

CM: Blaise Matuidi 7/10

Matuidi wasn’t able to add to his goal tally in this one, but it was a pretty typical Matuidi performance. His attacking influence was minimal, but he was a brick wall in the midfield as usual. He made 3 tackles and 2 interceptions in the match, making himself a nuisance to opposing midfields as he is so fond of doing. It wasn’t anything spectacular, but it’s exactly what you’d hope for from Matuidi. He didn’t make mistakes and he made life difficult for the opposing midfield. This wasn’t the first time we’ve seen a match like this from Matuidi and it certainly won’t be the last.

CM: Emre Can 7/10

Emre Can put in a solid performance in his first big match with Juve. He is still trying to fit into this Juve squad as he was just recently given his first start, but in this match he seemed like he was starting to find his place. He made 3 key passes in the match and managed to make a couple of tackles. This should be his spot in big moments going forward and he gave a glimpse of why in this match. He offers more than Khedira at this point in their respective careers and it’s time for Allegri’s lineups to reflect that.
