Juventus projected lineup for Champions League match vs Young Boys: Dybala and Mandzukic lead the attack
By John Vaccaro
CB: Andrea Barzagli
Andrea Barzagli will make his second start of the year in this match. Allegri has already confirmed as much. He has been a key component of this Juve defense for years and remains reliable even at 37 years old. He made his first start of the year last Wednesday against Bologna and he played well. That performance showed that Juve can continue to call on Barzagli when they need him. Expect to see another solid performance from Barzagli here.
CB: Leonardo Bonucci
Leonardo Bonucci will need to redeem himself in this match. He had been on the road to redemption all season long, but the match against Napoli didn’t do him any favors. His awful pass led directly to Napoli’s only goal of the match and then he nearly got himself sent off. He leaned his head in during an altercation with Allan and was lucky to stay in the match. He did end up scoring Juve’s 3rd goal, but to me that was too little too late. He’ll need to perform better here and this match is one where he should be able to do better.
CB: Medhi Benatia
Benatia continues to be a reliable option for Juventus. Like Barzagli, Benatia was trusted to start last week against Bologna and should once again start in the 3 man defense this week. He played well in the match last week as part of a defense that kept a clean sheet. He has been a nice piece for Juve since he joined the squad. That should continue here as he once again joins a 3 man Juve defense.
