CM: Blaise Matuidi

Blaise Matuidi will once again be tasked with controlling the midfield for Juve. He has been absolutely everywhere this season. He is one Juve’s tackle leaders for the year and has kept opposing teams off balance as they have tried to build their attacks. He has even added 2 goals this year. He usually plays in a box-to-box role, but may end up sitting back deeper in this one with Miralem Pjanic out of this match. If he covers for the defense that will free up the other two midfielders to help out the attack. He’ll be trusted to anchor the midfield with two less experienced players around him.

CM: Emre Can

Can has impressed early in his first season with Juventus. His passing abilities have allowed him to contribute more to the attack this season than Sami Khedira has been capable of. He also does a very good job of getting the ball back for Juve. He will likely be trusted with more creative responsibilities in this one with Pjanic resting. He has only provided one assist so far this season, but this match could be a good chance for him to add to that tally. I think he should be starting consistently over Khedira and if he really impresses here he could make his starting role permanent.

CM: Rodrigo Bentancur

Bentancur looked to be out of form in his first appearance of the season, but his form seemed to improve against Bologna last week. If Miralem Pjanic hadn’t played the last 4 matches in 2 weeks Bentancur probably wouldn’t even have a chance at getting the start here. However, Pjanic’s need to rest gives Bentancur a chance to impress on the big stage. Juve will need him to play well to keep control of the match and if he does it could earn him more regular starts this season.
