#8 Alfredo Di Stefano

Alfredo Di Stefano was one of the earliest footballing giants to have walked the earth. While there are little footages that show him playing, the numerous achievements are more than enough to give an idea about how he must have been as a footballer.

The Argentinian, alongside Ferenc Puskas and Francisco Gento, spearheaded the fearsome attack of Real Madrid in the 60’s. Surely, every one of us might be well aware of how Los Blancos won 5 European Cups in a row. Di Stefano found the net in all the five finals, including a hattrick in the last one. He set the founding stone for Real Madrid as the world’s greatest football club back then.

Nicknamed Saeta Rubia or the Blond Arrow, Di Stefano was an intelligent, versatile, powerful and a nimble forward capable of wreaking havoc in the opposition defence.
He won 5 European Cups, 13 league titles and the Ballon d’Or twice in his glorious footballing career.
If it wasn’t for Alfredo Di Stefano, surely, Real Madrid wouldn’t be where they are and what they are today.
