This is a huge matchweek for Liverpool, as Jurgen Klopp’s side take on Manchester City.

Liverpool are heavily involved in this week’s Premier League action, as they look to keep up their unbeaten run against Manchester City. They looked shaky against Chelsea, but the majority of our team think they will oversee Pep Guardiola’s men. Here are our predictions for matchweek 8…

Brighton and Hove Albion vs West Ham United

Kian Long: BRI 0-1 WHU

It’s a battle between 14th and 15th in the Premier League. Judging on form alone, I’m going to favour the visiting side. It won’t be as easy as it was against Manchester United, but West Ham will edge this match.

Matt English: BRI 1-1 WHU

West Ham have been in great form, but Brighton are always a tough team at home. Glenn Murray is always good for a goal, so look for him to score late.

Atharva Khadilkar: BRI 0-2 WHU

Arnautovic and Felipe Anderson are hitting form at a good time. Having dispatched Man United last weekend, a comfortable win awaits.

Tushar Bahl: BRI 0-2 WHU

West Ham have enjoyed quite a revival in recent weeks and they will be full of confidence going into this weekend’s game. Brighton on the other end are struggling and West Ham should win this one quite comfortably.

Reyhan Nath: BRI 1-2 WHU

It’s been 7 months, 210 days to be exact, since Brighton beat anyone in the Premier League other than Manchester United. West Ham come into this game off the back of a 3-1 win over the Red Devils. Both teams also scored 3 of their paltry tally of 8 goals in 7 games so far against Mourinho’s men.

They also have 4 defeats so far this season, but it would be harsh to judge the two sides based on that stat. They’ve both faced off against the big clubs – 3 of Brighton’s 4 defeats have come at the hands of Man City, Spurs and Liverpool while 2 of West Ham’s defeats have come against Liverpool and Arsenal.

However, it would be fair to say that the Hammers are in a better vein of form at the moment. Their last 3 games saw them beat Everton away, draw with Chelsea at home and beat Man United at home. They should just edge this.

Shawn Ivan D’souza: BRI 0-3 WHU

The Hammers have managed to turn their season after losing their opening 4 games. Last weekends massive victory against Manchester United showed their real potential and shows why they are set to smash Brighton this week.

Karl Harrington: BRI 0-2 WHU

West Ham have finally found their feet under Pellegrini. They’ll be brimming with confidence after last week.

Ryan Wrenn: BRI 1-2 WHU

A lot of West Ham’s quality in their last three matches have come on the counter, and Brighton isn’t as likely to afford the space needed for that game plan to work again. West Ham will need to find a way to break Brighton down, but they have the quality in attack to sustain their momentum for another week.
