Arsenal picked up all three points against Fulham at Craven Cottage, and the scoreline gives their performance the perfect justice.
Wow. What a performance that was from Arsenal’s perspective. Everything was perfect besides the clean sheet.
Arsenal didn’t have to travel far for this match, and if you were to judge by their performance, you would probably guess they were the home side. Things naturally started off shaky, but the Gunners soon found their rhythm in the second half.
A brace from Alexandre Lacazette, a wonder strike within one minute for Aaron Ramsey, and the inevitable double for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were the match highlights. But beneath the goals, there was a philosophy about Arsenal’s play, which required every single player to play their part, and boy did they do that.
Arsenal now find themselves in the top four, and it’s been a long time coming. Nobody can convince me that Arsenal don’t deserve it, because even at their worst, they’ve dispatched teams. Nine wins on the bounce is hard to achieve…
How did the individuals fare in this monumental win?
Bernd Leno – 7/10
Being chipped is never something which the goalkeeper likes, but we shouldn’t pin the goal on him. In fact, he kept the score minimal on Arsenal’s behalf. A sublime first half save was his match highlight, in which he needed to shift his body weight to match the deflected shot. Deserves a clean sheet, but he can still walk away with his head held high.
