Given these comments, Manchester United should stick with Jose Mourinho
By Kian Long
Manchester United may feel like sticking with Jose Mourinho is the best option. For now, of course…
Manchester United fought back to win emphatically against Newcastle United. Jose Mourinho’s side found themselves trailing by two goals at half time, but goals from Mata, Rashford and Alexis saw them pick up all three points dramatically.
While it should be expected given Newcastle’s poor start, United fans will feel the slightest confidence boost from this comeback. I mean, that’s not difficult, considering winning a game seemed impossible for the Old Trafford faithful.

There has been talks that Mourinho will be fired regardless of the result, but it is yet to happen. These now seem like false comments by the media, but we should have always been skeptical given the huge following of the saga.
One man who has been linked with the opening for quite some time now is Zinedine Zidane, formerly of Real Madrid of course. I always said that he will come in and change the club around, and the positives would be seen almost immediately.
However, according to Marca, the Frenchman won’t manage Manchester United. The outlet report that Zidane’s agent believes his client will not manage in the Premier League yet.
"“I don’t think (Zidane) will go to England, it’s not his style. I’ve spoken about it with him and the truth is that it doesn’t attract him.” – Alain Migliaccio, agent of Zinedine Zidane (via Marca)"
It’s quite a weird turn of events, given how eager Zidane appeared to be to manage in England. He was rumoured to take English at one point, and he even reportedly drew up a shortlist of players he wanted to sign for United. Still, anything can change in football. My best bet is that the Frenchman has progressed in talks with Juventus, as the Old Lady reportedly offered him a place in the hierarchy.
What this means is, despite how hard it might be to swallow, Mourinho is the best man for the job currently. How many top-end managers will be willing to jump ship, especially given the challenge which will greet them? My best bet is absolutely none.
United fans will hope that the comeback against Newcastle was a sign of better things to come. They have the right players available to them to drastically improve their position, but it takes desire.
Unless, of course, there’s another solution to this conundrum. #WengerIn.
