5. Lifting the biggest trophy in football

When it comes to football achievements, there really are none better than the World Cup. It’s the top of the pecking order, and very few players manage to get their hands on it for a reason.

Henry was fortunate enough to lift the World Cup early on his career. In fact, he lifted the trophy before he even signed for Arsenal. It was the 1998 World Cup, and although Henry didn’t feature in the final, he was one of the breakout stars.

More from Ligue 1

Arsene Wenger was obviously going to be watching the competition, being a fan of French prodigies. Patrick Vieira and Emmanuel Petit were heavily involved in the match, but I’m sure he would have been keeping his eyes on the young Thierry Henry. He impressed so much that he earned a call from Wenger, and the rest, well the rest is history.

I have no doubt that Henry’s managerial career will be a success. Soon, we will look at him as not only a legend of the game, but also one of the most prestigious contemporary managers. If Zinedine Zidane can do it, then so can Henry.

There are obviously some people out there who claim Henry won’t make it as a manager. But from what we’ve seen so far with Belgium, there are positives to look at.

What do you think has been the highlight of Thierry Henry’s career?
