5 players Juventus should target during the winter transfer window

Gaston Pereiro: Central Midfielder, PSV Eindhoven
If one of the other big clubs coming after SMS manages to beat Juventus to his signature they will need to have a backup plan ready. That backup plan should be Gaston Pereiro. Pereiro would fill the same role as Milinkovic-Savic, but without the hefty price tag or fanfare that accompany the SMS signing. Pereiro has been a consistent scoring threat for Eindhoven over the last 3 years, reaching double-digit goals in each of those seasons.
This season he looks poised to have his most impressive season yet. He has already scored 5 goals in his first 8 league appearances of the year. That puts him on pace to hit double-digit goals by the time the winter transfer window opens. He has also added 3 assists to his tally for the year. To compare, Juve has gotten 2 goals and an assist in 10 combined starts from Khedira, Can, and Bentancur this season.
Pereiro would be the best man for the job if Juve doesn’t make the kind of sale that would allow them the financial freedom to sign a player like Milinkovic-Savic. He has shown the nose for goal that Juve desperately needs from their third midfield spot and has gained quite a bit of European experience over the last few years.
He already looks like the real deal, but an impressive performance against Tottenham, Inter, or Barcelona would make him an even more compelling target for Juve. If he shows that he can perform on the biggest stage (especially on an overmatched team) then he would instantly become a no-brainer to fill this position for Juve.
