Neymar agrees to quit PSG: Real Madrid and Barcelona on alert
Neymar has reached an agreement to quit PSG next summer, with Real Madrid and Barcelona waiting in the wings for his signature.
According to reports from Mundo Deportivo via the Daily Express, Brazilian superstar Neymar wants to quit Paris Saint Germain next summer. The Spanish outlet claims that the Selecao captain is bored in the Ligue 1 due to lack of competition and is keen on a transfer out of the club.
The 26-year-old has apparently had a verbal agreement with club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi over leaving the club in the summer next year. Les Parisiens are willing to sell the player for a fee of €220 million.
Neymar joined Paris Saint Germain in the summer of 2017 for a world-record fee of £200 million. However, the speculation of him leaving the French champions surfaced just months after his record-breaking transfer.
The Brazilian skipper has been constantly linked with a move away from the club since he arrived at the Parc Des Princes in France. Currently, in his second season with the club, he has bagged 13 goals and 5 assists in all competitions.
Mundo Deportivo claims that Spanish giants Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have been put on alert following the outbreak of the news. The two European powerhouses have been exploring various ways to bring Neymar back ever since he left the La Liga.
Apart from Real Madrid and Barcelona, English giants Manchester United are also believed to be a possible destination for Neymar, but it seems that he is destined to end up in Spain.
Real Madrid were surprisingly quiet in the summer this year, after losing Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus. With Zinedine Zidane also stepping down as the manager of Los Blancos, Florentino Perez has handed the reigns of the club to Julen Lopetegui.

However, Real Madrid have struggled with inconsistency after starting the season on a positive note, losing a couple of players to various injuries in the process. They haven’t netted a goal in their last 4 games in all competitions and will be looking to break the duck against Levante at home this weekend.
Neymar’s former club Barcelona, too, aren’t having the best of their days in the LaLiga. With Ernesto Valverde still mulling over a contract extension, La Blaugrana have been winless in their last 4 games in the league, having drawn three and lost one. They face table-toppers Sevilla this weekend.
Neymar is reportedly keen on a reunion with Lionel Messi and Barcelona is expected to be his first choice, should the rumours of his move hold to be true. Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard, a target that seems to be more cost-effective and reachable than the former Barcelona man.
