LB: Alex Sandro

Juventus might not have the full back depth to rest Alex Sandro right now, but luckily for them Brazil does. Sandro only played 1 match during the international, which is a trend Juve will hope continues as long as Leonardo Spinazzola remains unavailable. That day off during the international break should keep Sandro fresh for both matches this week, which is a big boost for Juve. Sandro always keeps things locked down on his side of the field and that will be a big factor in this match as Juve will need to cut off the supply to Piatek. A good defensive performance from Sandro should help keep Piatek in check and give Juve a shot at their 3rd consecutive clean sheet.

RB: Joao Cancelo

Joao Cancelo has been fantastic in his first season with Juventus and will look to continue that after the second international break of the season. He only played 1 of the 2 matches for Portugal during the break, so Juventus won’t need to worry about resting him here. That match off gives Juve the ability to start Cancelo for both matches this week and Juve will need him for both.

He has been an absolute force as a part of both the attack and the defense, but it’s the defensive contribution that will be most important in this match. It would be easy for Juve to have an off day against Genoa with the big midweek match, so Cancelo will need to be at the top of his game in this one to make sure that Piatek doesn’t get any service from the right side of the field. He could have some chances going forward too, but a good defensive performance from Cancelo should be plenty in this one.
