Juventus projected lineup vs Genoa: Ronaldo leads the attack again
By John Vaccaro
LW: Cristiano Ronaldo
This definitely isn’t the match Cristiano Ronaldo will be most focused on this week with a return to Manchester United on his plate. This matchup will give him a perfect chance to keep rolling as he has registered either a goal or an assist in his last 5 Serie A appearances. After a rough start to his Juventus career he has been absolutely phenomenal lately. We can expect another good showing from him against Genoa as he gets ready for a return to Old Trafford.
ST: Mario Mandzukic

This one is a no-brainer for Allegri. Mandzukic is retired from international competition, so he rested all of last week. Paulo Dybala is nursing an injury. Mario Mandzukic is the clear choice to start up front in this match. He has more than earned that right throughout this season. He has scored 4 goals and assisted 2 more, including setting up Ronaldo’s goal against Udinese. He will put in another tireless effort against Genoa and has a good chance to be a difference maker in this match.
RW: Federico Bernardeschi
Allegri can’t mess it up this time, right? Paulo Dybala has been horribly ineffective as a right wing this year and is nursing an injury. On the other hand, Bernardeschi has been consistently awesome on the right wing for Juve (and that one match where he was an attacking midfielder). Starting Bernardeschi should be an easy choice in this match. It will give him a chance to shine in a start that he absolutely deserves and gives Dybala a chance to recover so Juve can try to fit him into the lineup against United.
I’m getting pretty tired of Bernardeschi being passed over in the starting lineup for a player who simply has been as effective in this position. Bernardeschi has only started 2 matches in Serie A, but has already scored twice and is averaging 1.6 key passes per match. He has also supplied 2 key passes per match in the Champions League and has looked like a real threat on the right side for Juve.
Hopefully Allegri can finally get it right for this match.
