Zlatan Ibrahimovic endured a successful spell at Manchester United, winning two trophies. But now the Sweden international is loving life in Major League Soccer.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a likable character. If you’re a Manchester United fan, you will know just that. During his time at Old Trafford, he was the one to come up with the jokes, with Paul Pogba and himself sharing a blissful bromance.

In all honesty, it’s this what United miss. There doesn’t seem to be any sense of companionship in the United setup. The only notable bromance going on is Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard but, well, I’ll let you decide whether that’s a good thing or not.

Anyway, according to the Metro, Zlatan was asked whether or not he would consider a move back to Manchester when his season is over with the Los Angeles Galaxy. Surprisingly, his response wasn’t humorous, but instead hurtful for the United faithful. Take a look:

"“I think I’m in a situation where I need to have a good balance between work and rest. Because I came back from injury and because of my age and the load I’m putting in during training.” – Zlatan Ibrahimovic"

LA Galaxy sit in seventh place of the Western Conference, just three points behind Real Salt Lake. Zlatan will have in his mind to reach the play-offs before the season comes to an end, because that way he can consider his time in Los Angeles a success.

More from Manchester United

Manchester United on the other hand are suffering a different tale. They sit in eighth place of the Premier League table, not a position they wanted to take up. They are seven points from the top, and in all honesty, a Europa League spot is what the fans should be hopeful for this year.

United have Romelu Lukaku, so they don’t need Zlatan by any stretch of the imagination. But one thing’s for sure, the striker will be looking at United’s position from The States with an ego-driven mindset, thinking how things could be different if he was in the ranks.

For now, he must focus on his recovery time. He ages at 37 years old, a feat which not many players can say they achieve. The self-proclaimed lion will hit the snooze button once this season has come to an end, but he will be keeping a strict eye on the Premier League standings.
