Twitter reacts as Manchester United concede late on at Stamford Bridge
By Kian Long
It was an incredible match between Manchester United and Chelsea, but I think these reactions are even better than the match itself…
In a match which epitomised the rich history of the Premier League’s drama, Manchester United came away with just one point. However, in all honesty, getting just one point could be considered punching above their weight given Chelsea’s fine display of liquid football.
However you put it, it was certainly a roller-coaster of emotions for the United faithful. From one goal down, to scoring two in quick succession, to conceding once more late on, this game had it all.

An Anthony Martial brace tilted the game in United’s favour, after they went down early on to an Antonio Rudiger header. They looked like they would snatch an undeserved win, but those of us who believed that must have forgotten that Chelsea have Maurizio Sarri now, and they are to be taken seriously at all times.
Defensive calamities at the back cost United the game, which is a shame given their resilience throughout the majority of this match. A floated ball into the box led to a rush of bodies battling for the ball, but inevitably, it was an unsuspected Ross Barkley to fire home in the dying embers of the match.
All of United’s hard work to fight back proved to be worthless, although there were plenty of positives to take.
As a neutral watching this game, you would have been treated to plenty of drama. However, none more so than what happened as a consequence to the equalising goal.
It would appear that a member of the Chelsea staff over-reacted (or at least that’s how Mourinho feels) to the late goal. He was seen to be running down the sideline to celebrate the goal, which obviously wouldn’t have gone down well in the eyes of Mourinho. I mean, I prefer not to speak…
Either way, you can take plenty of amusement scrolling through your Twitter feed, as is usually the case when two heavyweights clash. For everybody’s enjoyment, here are the best Twitter reactions following this game and everything which happened around the action on the pitch…
I think it’s fair to say that the football world had quite the mixed reaction to the game…
