Right Winger- Lionel Messi- 8/10

It was a real pity and bitter feeling to see Lionel Messi being taken away from the match with a fracture to his right arm. The 31 year old however made his presence felt on the pitch in just 30 minutes. Right from the off, he dribbled well and gave Sevilla’s defenders a tough time. Leo Messi set up Phillippe Coutinho’s goal with a brilliant pass through a tightly knit Sevilla defence before scoring on his own amazingly. It’s truly a shame that he’ll not be involved for the next three weeks.

Striker- Luis Suarez- 8/10

Luis Suarez would have dreaded the sight of the Barcelona fans who were not really behind him during his barren spell. But the Uruguay international got an assist by setting up Lionel Messi with a great pass before adding one goal for himself from the penalty spot. On the night, he stationed himself well and gave Simon Kjaer a tough time. He was usually on the shoulder of the last defender and made smart runs to stay onside. Suarez should’ve scored more but that does not take a good display away from him.

Left Winger- Phillippe Coutinho- 7.5/10

Phillippe Coutinho continued his great form in front of goal by slotting past Thomas Vaclik from eighteen yards out within the first two minutes of the game. The Brazil international looked good while playing the ball and exchanged it very nicely with his compatriot Arthur. In the latter stages of the game, he tried to tee up Ousmane Dembele several times but the Frenchman squandered his chances.
